About Me

Hi! I'm Marshall, lots of people call me Mac (it's my initials), and I'm really interested in learning how to do everything on my own. I realize that this means I may never actually be a master of everything, and I'm okay with that.

I've lived in the Oregon Willamette valley my entire life, and for a long time I thought I wanted to be a lot of different things, but this inhibited me from targeting any one particular career, and I got stuck in a job I didn't really enjoy for 13+ years. I'm still currently there, and my biggest reason for staying is, well, it's hard to beat the money and benefits a decent paying government job 'awards' you.

I love to build and fix things on my own, and I'm always picking the brains of people who know more about different subjects than I do. This platform I'm creating for myself is, in essence, an excuse for me to learn and talk about anything that strikes my fancy. I love learning, thinking, deep conversations, and controversial topics. I'm interested in all things outdoors, including hunting, foraging, gardening, and recreational activities. I'm hoping to one day run a property that offers a wide array of services, some of these on the front of my mind right now are raising sheep for wool and other livestock for food products, hosting music festivals, breeding dogs, and a workshop where I could work on anything from appliances to cars, woodworking to custom fabrication.

One day soon I'll be starting a podcast, in which I'll be talking to people from all walks of life. Ideally there will be an episode released every other week, with a blog post on another topic to fill in the weeks between.
